Does anyone know how I might locate TAS on google earth?  Perhaps if you know the address or have located it on one of these satilite search websites you could share.  Thank you.

Hi there, Linette! Try these coordinates from Google Earth: 35°46'50.78"N, 51°29'31.98"E. It is listed as 'former Tehran American School'

Thank you for the information.  Can you tell me if this location is the former TAS Middle and High School location or the TAS Elementary School location?  I'm  actully looking for the Middle/High School location as I lived only a few blocks from there and walked to school.  I'm hoping to find the former TAS middle/high school location so I can see if there are any familiar landmarks near where I lived.

Thanks again,

Linette

I remember the elementary as a big beige structure out of brick/stone. Fairly sure the images from the news back when the Shah fell were of the elementary being overrun. Maybe a look for those pics might help. I was in Denver when it fell in the pot. Too bad the kids could not completly pull it off this time.

My sister found the yearbook I stashed at mom's house years ago. I will ping her on Monday to see if the addresses are listed inside. At least, it will have the addy of the elementary school.

Speaking of old things, when did the Iranians change the spelling of Teheran? Everywhere I look these days, it is Tehran. I learened Teheran, and I am looking at my passport from back then, and all my Visa stamps say "Prefecture Passport Police - Teheran". Of course, this was fall 1964... Wow, we entered through Kuwait...

Wow, waking up and putting together pieces of the past sure is fun... ;-]

Ok, scratch that. I happened to hit the home page here, and I see that the campus I attended was the original '60's/'70's building. Almost positive. Also, fairly built up around the school by 1965. I will have the address soon, but probably not the school you are looking for.

You know, I'm not sure which campus this at this point. It sounds like the high school moved to another campus which had its own football field after 1968. When I went, I'm pretty sure we played at the embassay. The google map coordinates I passed along are to the one with the field, so I have to believe that this is the new campus. I went to the "dumpy" old campus depicted in the photos on this site's home page, but can't exactly say what the address was. Bob

Here are the coordinates of the "old campus": 35°44'52.25"N, 51°26'39.33"E. This is where I attended when I graduated in '69. At that time it was the only campus, for all grades 1-12.

It's marked in Google Earth as Tehran American School and as Khaje Nasire Toosi University.

Cheers, Steve
