Just thought I'd repost this from my reply to Barbara Haury in the class of 74 thread:
MUCH has gone on since then and I've done just about everything everywhere from military police and spec ops, to bail enforcement, electronic systems design, software development (GS12 for Army-turned down a 13 to teach martial arts; another real thought out move), California, North Carolina, Florida, Colorado, Arkansas, Arizona, Kwajalein Atol (south pacific), Grenada, West Indies, Saudi Arabia, Poland, Greece, Singapore, Hong Kong, Philippines, England, blah, blah blah...... but, finally settled down to pursue passions: my family and the martial arts. Ended up running a martial art school here in Virginia.
I have a 14-year-old daughter. She's absolutely beautiful (biased but true anyway) and a 2nd degree black belt in mixed traditional martial arts including Filipino styles, which I teach. My wife and I spent the first 10 years together (of 25!!!) traveling and partying, that explains the young age of my baby girl.
The economy is hurting the school badly so wife, daughter and I are looking once again overseas, maybe Saudi Arabia unless relations finally improve with Iran again... I guess I gotta get a real job again
. In that vein, if anyone out there can hook up a high end security systems designer/project manager, or .Net technologies software engineer.... we're looking to travel once more!!!
I used to maintain another TAS website along with Fawn Smith, but I'm not even sure if it is still up and running and we even organized a reunion in TX... Fawn did most of the organizing. If any of you still have my old email address at jps.com... it doesn't work any longer. Please use gw.misc@gmail.com instead.
Considering how tough times have been lately, it would be nice to see former TAS students, families, and friends set up some sore of networking. Anyone thinking along those lines with me, perhaps a new topic for that purpose should be set up here.
Looking forward to hearing from any of you again.
