Persian Restaurant

There is a great Persian restaurant in NYC that my son and I go to whenever I visit him. The name is "Ravagh Persian Grill". Brings back good memories!

There's a convenience store owner that's Persian, and he sometimes gets in some goodies. I've had the great fortune of being able to satisfy my pommegranate juice craving, and he's also gifted me with various types of Persian bread (I think his wife cooks it). Unfortunately, I've not found any Persian restaurants in the part of New Zealand where I now live.

A friend from work introduced me to lunch at a notable Persian restaurant in Houston. It's called Bijan Persian Grille and serves lots of the kebabs - I ordered chello with rice and nan. It was very good and authentic. It's nothing fancy which makes it even more authentic and the walls have 1970's era posters of Tehran, Dizin, Ab Ali, the Caspian Sea shore, Persepolis, etc. Check it out if you're in Houston. There is another - Persopolis - on the mid-upper east side that was very good. A little pricey, but then what do you expect in NYC? ;-)

If you're in Lost Wages, Nevada leave the gambling tables and head over to Habib's -- nice guy, great food, and a store where you can buy sumac for your chelo kebab! Go west on Sahara, under the freeway, and a little bit further. Worth it! Kathryn Hall Allahyari

I posted before I saw your thread! Yes.. Great food and conveniently located in Houston. Try the shopping on the next street down called Harwin street....a wide array of shopping and great prices.
